Hippos have been one of Amanda’s favorite animals since she was a kid. After painting Wenaha Tucannon, a wolf howling at a full moon, Amanda was inspired by a running family joke to paint a hippo doing the same. Amanda had been experimenting with metallic accents at this time, so it felt only natural to give the Hippo gold teeth.
